The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released this week, updated Five-Star quality ratings for care centers. Aurora on France has been rated 5-stars on CMS’s Care Compare – a nursing home five-star quality rating system. Care Compare is a public reporting site – the primary goal of which is to provide residents and their families with an easy way to understand assessment on nursing home quality, making meaningful distinctions between high and low performing nursing homes.
The Overall rating is based on a nursing homes performance on 3 sources – health inspections, staffing, and the quality of resident care measures.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, certain survey activity was suspended in March 2020. While CMS continued to publicly post survey findings during this time, they weren’t used to recalculate the nursing home inspection ratings. However, CMS updated the nursing home inspection ratings on January 27, 2021.
Medicare.gov explains, “Star ratings can give you important information and help you compare nursing homes, but aren't a substitute for visiting the nursing home.”
