Thinking about making a move this summer? If you have a home to sell, we’re sharing some great tips and a 2021 Spring Market Update from our friend Lisa Dunn, Senior Real Estate Specialist with ChangeAGEnts Group / RE/MAX Results.
In her video, Lisa goes over some tips for selling your house and discusses what’s happening right now in the real estate market. Click on the image above to watch the 9-minute video.
She explains, it’s a hot market right now and the market conditions favor those with a home to sell. The median sales price of homes in the Twin Cities is up, and with weather changing, there’s an uptick in buyer activity. Lisa and her team are on trend to see another record-breaking year.
To the dismay of buyers, there are few new listings coming into the market. Current low interest rates mean more people will be more qualified to buy your home. Right now, for homes listed under $400,000, the average time on the market is about 15 days. For homes listed over $500K, they are seeing about 32 days on market.
If you’re moving to a senior living apartment, you’ll want to plan least 45-60 days for listing and closing. If you’re hoping to move this summer, now is the time to select your relator (she gives tips on that too!), then reserve your apartment and put your home on the market.
Lisa advises that it’s best to know when and where you are moving before the For Sale sign goes into the ground. You want to stay in the drivers’ seat, so there are no surprises when it comes to the timing of the sale of your home or of your move. For the least stressful way to manage the logistics of your move, consider moving to your new home or senior apartment first. There has never been a better time to sell a home.
