Julie’s journey with Ebenezer began a few years again when she moved her own mother into an Ebenezer community – Cherrywood Point of Roseville. As her mom flourished in her new community, Julie began to get to know its residents, families and staff, including its executive director at the time, Barbara Mekenye. After a time, Barbara offered Julie a job at Cherrywood Point of Roseville and so Julie transitioned from being her mother’s caregiver to being an activity assistant in the memory care neighborhood. Several years later, Julie reconnected with Barbara Mekenye, now executive Director at Aurora on France, and Barbara offered her the Memory Care activity assistant position at Aurora on France.
Previously Julie worked in schools as a kitchen manager. Her background working with kids, her love of crafts and her outgoing yet patient personality make her a perfect fit for the job. Julie says she has never had a bad day working with memory care residents and has learned so much from them. She says, “My days are filled with fun and I always leave work happy.” Outside of work, Julie is married and has one adult daughter. She is also involved with the local Swedish community – singing in “Cloudberries”, a Swedish women’s choir and playing the violin with a children’s Swedish folk dance group. You can contact Julie at Aurora on France at 952-848-8888 or by email at jande102@fairview.org. We'd like to introduce Shirley Norberg who is 92 years young from Northbrook, IL and is recuperating in our Transition Care Unit. She was an Assistant Concert Master with the Lake Forest Symphony for 25 years and is an extremely talented musician.
Shirley, along with her awesome family that came to visit, gave us many wonderful concerts throughout the building this week. Her son, Roger, commented, "These musical visits have kept Shirley's spirits up and have helped with her rehabilitation. Music has been the key to her longevity." Thank you Shirley and family for the wonderful entertainment at Aurora on France and for choosing Aurora on France. Aurora on France offers FREE class on Health Care Directives

Please RSVP to either event with Amanda Williams at (952) 848-8842 Determining when the “right time” to move into a senior living community can be a very complicated decision-making process. A growing trend is that many people wait for a significant health or caregiving crisis to happen before considering a move. Unfortunately, we don’t often make sound decisions in crisis situations and waiting until a crisis also severely limits choices. We want to encourage you to attend our FREE seminar to learn about creating and having a plan for moving to a senior living community as well as the benefits of moving before something happens.
